Simple White Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

• 4 Cups Unbleached All Purpose Flour

• 11/2 Cups of Water

• 1 Tsp of Salt

• 1/4 Cup of Honey

• 1 Tbsp of Active Dry Yeast

• 1 Lemon or 2 tbsp of Lemon Juice

 

Instructions:

 

Step 1: In a mixing bowl, add active dry yeast to 1 1/2 cups of lukewarm water. Let sit for 30 min!

Step 2: Cut the lemon in half, pick the seeds out, squeeze juice from both halves into bowl, then add the Salt and Honey. Add in 1st cup of flour and start mixing. Keep adding flour while mixing til bread has a nice texture. Pull dough out of bowl, knead for around 3 minutes, then roll it out flat. Fold dough up and place in oiled bread pan. Allow it to rise in the pan for about an hour.

Step 3: Preheat oven to 350 while you wait for the bread to rise. Once it rises to about an inch below the pan edge, put in the oven for at least 30-45 min, time will vary depending on your oven.

 

Notes: Check your bread at 20 min and see if it’s cooking evenly, you may need to rotate it. Let your bread cool in the pan, it’ll soften up the crust a little.
