Our Homemade Brand

In January 2024, my husband and I started talking about the 2020 food shortages and how we never wanted to be caught up in that scenario again. We wanted to stock up as much as possible, so my amazing neighbor at the time started to teach me all about canning and food preservation.

Then in February I was trying to eat healthier to shed a bit of winter weight so I’d fit in my dress for my upcoming wedding. I decided since I was on the go so much with my career, that I needed some healthy snacks for the mornings that I skipped breakfast. I had bought some protein bars from a very reputable online company and the morning I tried them out, it resulted in the most terrifying allergic reaction I’ve ever experienced! They didn’t taste right in any way and literally felt like my mouth was submerged in some kind of chemical. I am so grateful I called my other neighbor about how much Allergy medicine to take and how often. She came over immediately and stayed to see if the swelling was going to go away. It didn’t, so she drove me to the Dr to get a shot.

My face stayed semi swollen for 3 days!! In the midst of it, I had a ton of people asking me what I was allergic to in it. But the thing is, I do not and never have had any food allergies. So I started reading the ingredients just to see what I maybe could have reacted to, I couldn’t even pronounce several of the ingredients on that label! And that sent me into a spiraling frenzy to clean up our pantry and simply consume less unnecessary ingredients and more wholesome homemade food.

In April we sold our house and moved to west Texas, and with that move brought the gift of more time for me to be a homemaker. My career has been an amazing blessing that I worked tirelessly to build, but it’s a hectic and high stress environment at times and not always enjoyable. When we moved, it of course slowed down a bit. Which allowed me to get in the kitchen more frequently and create!

May was a blur because we got married and went on our honeymoon, June, July and August are the busiest rodeo months we have. But even with rodeo, being a full time bonus momma and still traveling allot for my career, I worked on my homemaking skills daily and our pantry now consists of sourdough snacks, home baked bread, dry mixes to mix up sweets with less ingredients, as well as home canned soups, veggies and jams! We not only eat better now but we physically feel better and our food is so much more filling than anything we’ve ever bought from the store! It’s amazing what consuming real ingredients does for you!

It’s now September and I’ve officially launched my online store so that anybody that doesn’t have the gift of time in their daily lives can now have healthier options in their pantry too! I am adding products regularly and so excited to share my homemade creations with y’all!!
